Welcome to the June edition of Top of the Popplets! With the traditional summer holidays almost upon us, June has seen a feverish flurry of quality pre-vacation Popplet work: Superheroes, Coral Reefs, Engineering, and New Digital Technologies are just a small sampling of what subjects scored highly in the Popplet popularity stakes this month.
Superheroes
Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Nooo! – it’s a splendid Superheroes Popplet, published by Emmi in her super Education and Technology blog. Superheroes is essentially a relatively comprehensive guide to all the important facets of your average Superhero lifestyle: dress code, special abilities/powers etc., favorite technologies and last but not least, adopted code of morals – you know? – likes/dislikes, everything you need to know. Clever use of color classification, very watchable videos along with attractive visuals, and some very cool subject matter all add up to what we can only call a Super-Popplet. Thank you, Emmi.
Nuevas Tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (New Information & Communication Technologies)
New Information & Communication Technologies, posted on Twitter by Nadia Zibecchi, is an intelligently planned Popplet demonstrating how clearly and succinctly information can be brought together for a presentation on a single popplet board. Using Popplet Presentation mode 2, which lets you create slides of different parts of a Popplet. The NICT slides could look a little like this:

Well, we’re sticking with simple for our final offering this month: an excellent engineering popplet! Rueda Helicoidal (Worm Gear), by Lina Maria, is a good example of why a picture is worth a thousand words – and if those pictures just happen to be clearly annotated, high definition images of a marvelous mechanical invention, then really…what more is there to say?
