Frequently Asked Questions

What’s “new” in the new Popplet for web browsers?

The new version of Popplet for web browsers uses HTML5 – the latest, greatest modern web standard – instead of Flash. This means Popplet now works online without plug-ins, in more browsers and on more devices, including Chromebooks.

The new Popplet also offers Google Single Sign-On, for your convenience and to better support Google Classroom.

It keeps all of what made old Popplet great, and adds two great improvements: you can now drag and drop to add images, and it’s super easy to embed YouTube videos.

Wherever you create popplets in the new web version, they will be saved in your account with HTML5 and will be accessible across browsers and devices.

Users of Popplet’s online version don’t need to do anything besides log in to use new Popplet on the web. All your popplets are waiting for you, ready to go.

What’s happening to Flash?

Popplets built in the old Flash version will be available at legacy.popplet.com until December 31, 2020, when Adobe stops supporting Flash.

What devices does the new Popplet work on?

The new Popplet works on web browsers on desktops, laptops, Chromebooks, and Android and iOS tablets.

Is there anything new in the app version of Popplet for tablets and phones?

Nope! Version 2.5.1 is the current app version for iOS devices and is available here.

What about my old popplets?

All of your popplets are still safely in your account.
They have been upgraded to work in HTML5, so you can now use Popplet on more browsers and on more devices.

Popplets built in the old Flash version will be available until December 31, 2020, when Adobe stops supporting Flash.

Starting January 1, 2021, popplets will be exclusively HTML5. There is nothing you need to do for this changeover.

What if my favorite feature seems to be missing?

If you’re missing a feature from Flash as we launch new Popplet, in the weeks following launch we will update Popplet to include all the best features you know and love.

Until then, you can access the classic Flash version of Popplet available here. Don’t forget to let us know what you’re missing so we can make sure your favorite features make it into the next version!

Hmm… this old popplet looks funny.

If a popplet looks funky when accessed through the new Popplet, click the “Need old Popplet?” button on the log in window to access your popplet in the Flash version. This option will be available until December 31, 2020.

If a popplet seems to have gone missing, please contact support.

I’m new here: how do I learn how to Popplet?

Popplet is simple, easy, and intuitive to use, but we have a library of content about all the ways you can use Popplet to make mind maps, flow charts, timelines, story boards and more. Just click here.

How do I export my Popplet into a PDF?

Included in the Popplet stage, you can access the gear menu and select “print + pdf export” to create a printable PDF of your Popplet.

How do I sign in with Google if I already have an account using the same email address?

It’s easy! If you are using the SAME email address as your Google account, you have the option to sign in either using your email address and saved password OR using the Sign in with Google, and they will both connect to the same Popplet account. You can then choose to log in using wither your saved password or Google Sign in, whichever you prefer!
